We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, we believe that this enables all students to find and pursue interests outside the classroom.
Our termly sports are based upon the ISAZ (Independent Schools Association of Zambia) calendar and fixtures are played at both ISAZ and LISL (Lusaka International Schools League) level in all age groups. In term one the sports are: swimming, basketball, cricket and volleyball. In term two: football, netball and cross-country. In term three: hockey, rugby and athletics (in which we have been Midlands Champions in nine of the last ten years).
In addition to this we offer many other activities such as chess, community service, orchestra, choir, golf, scholar’s cup, debating and JETS(Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists). There are also supervised prep sessions each afternoon.
Our students regularly represent the school in national competitions together with Scholar’s Cup (most recently in Malaysia); National Schools Quiz (South Africa); CFO competition (South Africa); and Adventure Race (held regionally).
Competitive activities are encouraged wherever possible, both in school (interhouse competition), and in competition with partner schools.
Baobab College is proud to deliver the Duke of Edinburgh's International Youth Award, with Year 10 students taking part each year in bronze award activities which include the adventurous journey, skills, physical activity and communty service.
