Our afternoon activities programme provides an opportunity for students to pursue their interests and passions beyond academics. We also promote physical and mental health, as well as creative outlets for our students within our programmes. We recognise that engaging in extracurricular activities help students develop important skills such as time management, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, which encourages better academic performance.
Our termly sports are based upon the ISAZ (Independent Schools Association of Zambia) calendar and fixtures are played at both ISAZ and LISL (Lusaka International Schools League) level in all age groups. In Term One, students participate in swimming, basketball, cricket and volleyball. In Term Two: football, netball and cross-country. In Term Three: hockey, rugby and athletics (in which we have been Midlands Champions in nine of the last ten years.) Competitive activities are encouraged wherever possible, both in school (inter house competitions) and in competition with partner schools.
In addition to this we offer many other activities such as chess, orchestra, choir, science club, debating (MUN), technology club, knitting, crochet and mindfulness. There are also supervised prep sessions each afternoon and from 3- 4pm, we have supervised play for students waiting for older siblings or who take the school bus home.
