Baobab College students have organised a campaign to protect the environment.

Baobab's new environmental committee is committed to ensuring that Baobab College is a green environment and to reduce the use of single use plastics at school. The group is spear-heading environmental programmes and raising awareness of climate change and action required. Lumba performed this inspiring poem at assembly to raise awareness for the cause.

It's blatant, it's clear, it's finally here
The end of the earth, your camera clear?
Get it on tape, let it record
You reap what you sow, so just enjoy your show
Let's make it translucent, let's get it pellucid
We all killed the earth, so should we be applauded?
Throw your plastic around, just cause of a crowd
Think you're wearing a crown but you look like a clown
The earth's not your playground
Just cause we don't need some species
Does not mean we should treat them as the pieces of trash around their necks and in their bodies
Are we proud of ourselves?
No, really, are we proud of ourselves?
We live here, breathe the air, and live the lives that we prepare but it really seems like no one cares, acting like we can go elsewhere
I'm not asking you to plant a million trees, or save every single bee
I'm not asking you to clear every single sea, who am I? One person, just me.
I'm just asking you to care, not shedding any tears
Just something you can bear, just something to spare
Or forget about your kids, at this point, they'll be rare
